Act of Will

Carla Peterson and I are in the midst of providing a study group on Roberto Assagioli's book The Act of Will. This is a 10 week study during which we meet weekly via conference call. Some who are not able to be with us are following via the blog and emails. About 30 people signed up and reach to Poland, New Zealand, England and across the USA.

Technology is making this wonderful experience possible. Though I must admit that I'm still being dragged each step of the way as the need arises. Nevertheless, here we are.

It is a joy to do this project. Even though people asked for the book study, the Soul urge was clear to both Carla and me.

It's due to reading this book again that I'm writing another post here. I engaged my strong will. I'm hoping others will be joining at some point.

Soul Weavings

By now you have already seen the last copy of Soul Weavings.
This comes about because people are willing to contribute
content (serving) but most especially because Marilyn Wedberg
takes everything, adds this and that and puts it all together.
This also includes layout (the artistic part), printing, collating
folding, licking the stamps and mailing. She does the whole
thing, single handedly.

This is serving in a big way. She has done this joyfully, regularly, since
the letter's inception years ago - quietly, beautifully, serving our
community year after year. Thank you Marilyn. You are a jewel.

Book Group

We just finished a 10 week book group, reading Assagioli's Psychosynthesis.
It was offered free and involved email. blog, and weekly conference calls.
It was Carla's idea and her time consuming effort which made it a reality.
Thank you Carla for this service to the Psychosynthesis Community and
for the opportunity to serve with you in this way.

Marsha created a slide show from our last retreat and sent
each attender a copy. The beautiful images and music bring
back our experience there and reminds us of our commitment

Serving and Being Served

We recently placed a five minute audio centering meditation on our website.
It's an adaptation of the psychosynthesis disidentification/identification process.
We envisioned people being encouraged in this way to click on for five minutes
to center briefly and feel more peaceful. There are easy places to pause
when a longer meditation is possible or desired. Some people have downloaded
the meditation to their portable devices so they can listen anytime, anywhere.

This is our service to anyone who would like to use it. This is an example of
service.

Along the way there were many examples of service. Jan who persisted and
found the recording studio for me here in Charlotte. The young man who
helped me feel at ease in my first ever experience in a recording studio.
He said and did just the right things. This too was service. Marilyn who patiently
worked on getting it all just right for our website. This was service.

As I pay more and more attention, it's clear that the Soul is giving us unlimited
opportunities to work through us. We are blessed indeed for this privilege.

Ways We Can Serve

At the Center for Awakening's Fall Retreat we listed a number of ways we can serve others. What follows is the list:

do uplifting meditation for other members of the group
do focused creative meditation on a particular concern (example, the candidacy for public office of one of the participants)
find out ways in which individuals are being of service and applaud them and/or imitate them
regard our work, whatever it is, as being service
use our spiritual connection to see more ways of using these connections and practices to be of greater service in daily life
act on the principle of "each one teach one" by offering what we know to others we encounter
being Presence to people, and to the world in which we live
work on our own alignment and inner development
send energy to our earth (hold hands apart, envision the earth between them, radiate energy of love to the earth)

"Serving: The Natural Expression of Our Being," the topic for The Center for Awakening's fall retreat sparked much discussion and enthusiasm. We listed many ways to serve in our families, communities, and as citizens of this planet. We decided to establish this blog to keep track of the ways we are serving the Soul, how we are inspiring others to serve, and how we can envision more Soul serving as time and events unfold.
